Old Rowley Cavalier King Charles Spaniels kennel was established in 1976 by Bill and Bronwyn Murdoch.

We have owned and exhibited Cavaliers in New Zealand, Australian, U.S.A. and Hong Kong. We have imported Cavaliers from successful Cavalier breeders in the United Kingdom and Australia, including the world famous Homerbrent Cavaliers on which our Old Rowley lines are based. We have recently added to the quality of our lines by importing frozen semen from the leading Cavalier breeder in Ireland.

We live in Central Hawke's Bay where our Cavaliers enjoy their rural lifestyle. We welcome anyone interested in Cavaliers to visit and see our dogs and discuss this delightful breed.

Puppies are occasionally available and we welcome enquiries.

Our Cavalier King Charles and Lowchens are our Life. They live the best life, running around, joining donkeys, horses, cows, goats etc.

Ellamour Cavaliers - based in Petone, Wellington.

Our first pedigree Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was a pet named Ella upon which our Kennel name is based. My husband and I fell in love with this breed and our goal is to produce the best Cavaliers possible, balancing health, temperament, soundness, and overall breed type, in a home environment.

I have been exhibiting cavaliers in the show ring for several years now. My founding bitches are from Anne Dobie of Glengariff Kennels, and we are extremely thankful to her for entrusting her dogs to us and sharing her breed knowledge.

All our dogs are DNA tested for “dry eye, curly coat + episodic falling” and health checked prior to mating.

We welcome people interested in this loving breed to visit us, meet our Cavaliers, and see the home environment they are raised in.

I do not currently have puppies ready now to adopt.
These pups are very different to ones from any standard breeder as I am proud to say that I do the very best I can for the litters I have by bringing them through the Puppy Culture Breeding Program and the proof is in the puppy.
Puppy culture aims to provide puppies with a foundation of experiences and skills that will help them grow into confident, well-adjusted adult dogs. This includes providing puppies with exposure to a variety of people, places, and experiences, as well as teaching them basic manners and obedience skills.
Puppy culture is often associated with breeding programs that are focused on producing high-quality, well-adjusted puppies. It is considered a holistic approach to breeding and raising puppies that aims to optimize their overall health and well-being.
Before breeding, I checked through their breed lines to make sure I was happy that the health of the generations was good. I have DNA tested the parents that I am breeding to ensure a good match.
I am a registered breeder with DogsNZ so their lineage can be tracked.
All my puppies come with DogsNZ registered papers.They have had vet checks covering heart health and checks on luxation of joints, their first vaccinations, microchipped, wormed and that will all be documented in the vet book so that you know when any of it is due next.
