Sweet, active dogs with big personalities — suited to family life, farms, dog sports and caring homes. Our Vallhunds are raised with love, inside and with an emphasis on sound temperament, companionship and versatility.

Barahwolfe dogs can be found in homes throughout New Zealand (Australia, & USA) as much-loved companions, agility and performance dogs, and family pets.

Welcome to Vanaheim Swedish Vallhunds

For over 23 years, Vanaheim has been a small but passionate home to Swedish Vallhunds in the beautiful Waikato, North Island, NZ. Our dogs aren’t just proven champions in the ring — they’re wonderful companions with big personalities and even bigger hearts.

The Swedish Vallhund is a loyal, loving, clever little character who thrives in active homes and loves being part of family life. You’ll find Vanaheim Valls all across New Zealand: as much loved family companions, enthusiastic agility and performance dogs, and even helping out on farms in their traditional working roles.

We’re proud to bring some of the most diverse, unique, and exceptional bloodlines to New Zealand from Sweden, Finland, America, Australia, and the UK. Every one of our dogs is DNA tested, diversity tested, hip scored, and eye tested — keeping them healthy and happy is at the heart of everything we do. Our passion is intentionally small: we breed for quality, not quantity. Performance, trainability, long term health, and sound genetics are the foundation of every Vanaheim puppy.
