We are a small establishment located in the picturesque Coromandel of New Zealand. We strive to breed beautiful Swedish Vallhunds with superb temperaments who naturally fit into all walks of life.

You will find our puppies gracing NZ homes as Companions, Obedience, Agility & Rally-O competitors, Search & Rescue Valls, Herding Dogs and in the Conformation Show Ring.

We are thrilled to be breeder and exhibitor of some of New Zealands most consistant winning Swedish Vallhunds since our establishment in early 2003, and are pleased to be working with reputable National and International breeders and bloodlines.

We are actively involved in promoting Vallhunds throughout NZ, the importation of new proven, health tested bloodlines and are proud that our Swedish Vallhunds have had a paw in creating breed history in Australasia at National level over the past 9 years.

No matter what the task the versatile Swedish Vallhund is always keen to give it a go !!

Established in 2005 and situated in rural, central North Island, NZ. Vallarity continues to contribute to the gene pool of this rare breed importing Finnish, Swedish, American & Australian direct bloodlines.


All dogs are shown to NZKC Ch. and are health checked before commencement of breeding.


Don't be misled by the name 'kennel', our dogs live in our home and are well socialized.


We have imported the only 3 dogs from Sweden & Finland in NZ and 2 bitches from Australia. They are from BIS winners, Grand Champions, herding, obedience and agility bloodlines.


Our Swedish Vallhunds hold Gold, Silver and Champion titles as well as multiple class In Group awards & have been DOL SV of the Year for the last 5 consecutive years.


We have produced the only Swedish Vallhund in NZ to win 2x class BEST IN SHOW's. Two of our pups went on to become Australian Champions as well as passing their Herding Instinct Exams.
We have also bred the only NZ Swedish Vallhund to be dual titled, Aust & NZ Champion.

We pride ourselves on endevouring to produce the best possible examples of the breed, as well as happy, healthy, well adjusted puppies.


Our puppy owners can't speak highly enough of their 'kids', praising them for their wonderful temperaments and endearing qualities. Whether for Showing, working or as companion pets, our pups are great little representatives of our kennel and the breed.

New Zealand's Longest Established and Actively breeding Swedish Vallhund kennel. Owned & operated by Mother and Daughter team Peta and Alice Dowle.

Mentored by NZ's pioneer breeders we import bloodlines from around the world and work alongside international Swedish Vallhund kennels that have our same ethic, and operate with the utmost integrity. We pay attention to pedigrees, conformation, great natures and type.

Breed guardianship isn't about serving our own ego, it is about serving the breed. In all decision making what is best for our dogs and what is paramount for the breed comes first.

To this end, Barahwolfe is woking with illustrious breed lines (established and imported) from Australia, Ireland and England. We run on a number of great, young bitches for future selection and do not participate in repeat mating options.

Through health testing our breeding dogs, prioritising temperament,and breed trait we own and produce top notch Vallhunds. Barahwolfe puppies are much saught after as we produce no more than one or two litters per year.

Vet Nurse, Peta Dowle, combines a specialist interest in puppy development to ensure that pups that leave Barahwolfe are well raised, confident, stable and ready for their new homes.

Home of Valkrista Paddy's Rune Stone and Barahwolfe Hazelnut Whirl, we are proud owners and breeders of quality NZ Swedish Vallhunds. My dogs have wonderful temperaments, and have been both farm and suburban raised, as well as around numerous children and other animals.
