Beautiful versatile Vizsla's, of excellent temperament, UK bloodlines, brought with us when we emigrated to NZ. Shown with great success in UK, 3 of our vizzies have now gained there NZ titles. We have imported a lovely young dog from Heiderst kennels in Australia to compliment our lines, who has now gained his New Zealand title. Chilli has good hip and elbow scores and available at stud to approved bitches.

The All Round Companion Hunter - Breeding for Soundness, Temperament, Working and Show. My dogs happily go from sleeping on the bed ... to swimming the widest river .. to searching out feather or fur game ... to strutting their stuff in the show ring .. and back home to be lap dogs and loved pets! They have also successfully competed in agility, obedience and field trials. My involvement with Vizslas began in 1990 and my first one came home with me in 1991. A growing dedication to the breed has seen me set out to learn as much as I can. This includes joining international lists and discussing the breed with people around the world, traveling to different countries to see other dogs, importing semen and starting a national breed newsletter. My dedication continues with an education campaign to help new people understand the breed and give an idea about breeders responsibilities. This is supported by articles I have written and had published, web pages, a VizslaNZ yahoo list and a booklet I have written on the subject (booklet available by email – just email me and ask or go to http://trader.co.nz/dogtrain/articles.htm to read this and some of my other articles). It is exciting to see ‘my’ dogs earning their keep with the hunters, enjoying themselves in competition activities, prancing around the show ring and, most importantly, becoming loved and trusted family members for so many people.

We have established our Folkvangr Kennel after being involved with the breed for many years, during that time learning a huge amount from breeders both here in NZ and overseas. We have shown Hungarian Vizsla's we have owned to their conformation titles in NZ, all of them earning group and show awards along the way. We have also exposed them to hunt tests along the way with only the limitations of the handler slowing their progress, we plan to get involved in Field trialing in the future as we believe it is important for the breed to be recognised for not only conformation but hunting prowess also. We are Planning a litter out of our NZ CH Magyar Final Legasee late 2011.

Silverton Kennels was established in 2008 when we purchased our Vizsla bitch - Tilly - from the UK whose sire is at stud at the Sugar Kennels in Hungary. In 2009 we also introduced a beautiful 'stunner' from Erdos Kennels in Australia that has excellent bloodlines. Reign's Great Great Grandfather Hungargunn Bear Itn Mind won the Gundog group at Crufts in 2009 and in 2010 took out Crufts Best In Show. 'Silverton', established in 2000 is very successful in breeding stud Pure African Angora goats. We concentrate on striving for excellence through top genetics and a sound breeding programme. We hope to bring this broad base of experience to the breeding of Hungarian Vizsla's in the future.

DEBRECAN VIZSLAS

In 1989 we purchased our first Vizsla. We fell in love with this wonderful breed and in 1994 Debrecan Kennels was established. We imported our first Vizsla Bitch from Australia, “Cheska” followed by “Sarkoz” (Agasvari Super Star), whose father was a direct import from Hungary. He was a fabulous dog, produced some beautiful puppies, and was used at stud by other Vizsla breeders. His Granddaughter, NZCH “Kato” is our pride and joy and she came to us from Magyar Kennels. All Vizslas which we breed from are hip and elbow scored. We stand by our puppies as we strive to maintain a high standard in our breeding programme.
