Rory and I have been breeding Great Danes for some 30 years. During that time we have bred many BIS winners at both specialty and All Breeds level. Over the last 10 years our breeding has been based on several dogs that we imported from Grand Fawns in Sweden. Using this stock we are one of the foremost Great Dane kennels in New Zealand, having produced the most Best in Show Winners and Dane of the year for the Last 6 years. Danes are our passion and I cannot imagine that not being so.

The prefix Lapsewood was first registered in the UK back in 1970 when it carried the names of some quality Irish and English Setters. The move to New Zealand in 1989 offered the opportunity to own our first Great Dane, Bronson, a big fawn dog that stole our hearts and was to be the start of our love affair with this wonderful breed. We share our 4 acre property in Coatesville which is 25 kms north of Auckland City with our dogs who all live in as part of our family.
