We only breed occasionally when we want to keep a puppy ourselves and to date have had 21 Champions, 1 Dual Champion and 4 Grand Champions. I have been dedicated to the breed in NZ for 30 years, breeding for quality, conformation, health and temperament as per our standard. I have imported dogs from Aust with European & American lines to introduce new blood lines & it is my aim for the future to selectively breed to carry on and produce these line bred dogs. For the past 5 years I have been dna testing for Von Willebrands Disease (vWd's) with the result that I have ruled out any affected pups, all my breeding bitches are now clear.

Martyn Dobermann Stud has been established since 1970, and we are the oldest established breeders exhibiting still in New Zealand. To date we have bred 74 plus Champions and 9 Grand Champions and owned an Australian import who became a NZ Grand Champion. We are the first breeders to have a Grand Champion Dobermann registered with the New Zealand Kennel Club and we also have an American Champion to our name, being the only Dobermann kennel to achieve this in the history of the breed along with many Australian Champions. We, together with our children, have imported four American Dobermanns from the USA, and have currently in the frozen semen bank from the USA, the choice of fifteen top American male Dobermann's for our on going breeding program. We have achieved numerous awards at both All Breed Champion Shows and Dobermann Specialists Shows. One of our major achievements would be having bred the winner of the Australian Dobermann Nationals, where Australian Champion Martyn Double Trouble (Imp NZ) who won Best In Show over 316 Australian Dobermann's. To date Martyn Dobermanns have won in excess of 150 All Breeds Best In Shows at all levels of competition. Some other important wins were the Dog of the Year, Pal Top Dog and Runner up Top Dog. As a family we exhibit most weekends of the year. This allows us to keep in check our continued dedication of quality, always trying to epitomize the breeds standard and adhere to it vigorously and health test our dogs.

A boutique kennel, breeding very selectively and infrequently. Relatively new to the dog breeding/showing scene we have started with a foundation bitch from the best kennel in NZ and have imported frozen semen for her. The results are speaking for themselves and we now look forward to building on future generations with the same sound temperaments and lovely conformation.
