Cristabo Dalmatians are a small kennel aiming to produce true Dalmatian type and temperament. Bloodlines used include those from top English, American, Australian, European and NZ kennels. Our dogs share our home fulfilling their joint role of companion dogs & pets that are also capable of wining in the show ring. We have exported to Germany, New Caledonia and Canada and added to the NZ gene pool by importing stock from Norway and Australia.

The New Zealand Kennel Club's only Accredited Breeder of Dalmatians. From the beginning, I have had a very clear objective when breeding Dalmatians - to breed healthy dogs with lovely characters, of the correct structure and movement, maintaining good substance without losing the grace and elegance typical of the breed. This ambition has taken me across the world and led to the incorporation of bloodlines from internationally respected Dalmatian kennels - Dalmo (Nwy), Gwynmor (Netherlands), Olbero (UK), Perdita (Nwy), Spotnik (Nwy), Stedfast (NZ) , T-Cart and Theakston (UK). AUDAX Dalmatians have been featured in the TVNZ series, 'Best In Show', and in the book, 'A Way With Dogs', by Trudy Nicholson. Audax puppies are carefully bred and reared. All breeding stock have been BAER tested and screened for hip and elbow dysplasia.

I have been involved with Dalmatians since 1992. My initial stock was a mixture of South African, UK and American lines. When I came to New Zealand in 2002 I only brought one old dog with me and then I imported a bitch from Carol Immelman's well known Dallmalli kennel in South Africa. I strive to breed Dalmatians with their initial purpose in mind - that of an endurance athlete. Dalmatians should be able to run for long distances at an easy, light and economical pace and should be easily identified by their typically evenly spaced spotting. Even though they were also used as guard dogs for the carriages, they should have a very friendly and outgoing nature.
