The Chesapeake Bay retriever is a gundog with a bright happy disposition, courage, willingness to work, alertness, intelligence and a love of water. Stormbay Chesapeakes are all of this plus they enjoy good health, have good coats and great temperaments. The breed started from two shipwrecked puppies and grew to be famous for its duck hunting and retrieving abilities in the cold harsh conditions of the Chesapeake Bay. An all American breed, Stormbay kennels strives to keep all that made this dog what it is, so hunting is a regular part of their lives, along with field trials and showing. Imported bloodlines, rigorous health checks, a focus on working ability and temperament as well as structure come together at Stormbay Chesapeakes to bring you a strong robust retriever, keen to work or play, and be a loyal member of the family.
Puppies available to approved homes. Imported stud dogs available to selected bitches. Started gundogs and older hunting dogs are available to genuine hunting homes, please contact us for more details. Gundog training is also available. Enquires welcome. Stormbay Kennels is owned by Commonwealth Games Shooting Gold Medalist Teresa Borrell, who actively field trials and hunts with all her Chessies.
