At Can-Oui Kennels we breed for health, soundness and fantastic temperaments. Our bloodlines include top winning lines from UK, Canada, America and Australia from very well known & respected kennels which include Crufts Best of Breed winner for several years running, Grand Champions and FCI International/Multi Countries Champ. Breeders of Champion Basset Hounds since 1979. We strive to breed sound moderate hounds with excellent temperaments. We have bred and owned two New Zealand Grand Champion Basset Hounds GR CH Hunterspark Mr Basil and GR CH & Aus CH Hunterspark Mr Sandman Hunterspark was also associated for many years with Foxhounds and imported the first show Foxhounds into New Zealand in 1988, one of these hounds went on to be the only Grand Champion Foxhound, GR CHc Mingus Hound Hastings imp Aus

We have lived with Basset Hounds for over 10 years and bred our first litter 8 years ago. We are a rural kennel breeding for Health, Temperment, and Conformation to the NZKC standard. We seldom breed a basset hound litter but when we do, it is done with a lot of thought and planning. We are very pleased with our latest puppy - Floyd. To date he has won a BPIS all breeds, Best of Breed (16 entries) and BPIS at a speciality show. Not bad from just 5 shows. We are always happy to talk about basset hounds so feel free to contact us.
