First started showing dogs in 1977, our chosen breed than was an Afghan Hound. In the early 80s' we imported a dog from Australia to strengthen our future Vashti Kennel (Vashti means beautiful) aspirations.
In the late 80s' due to family commitments, the dog showing world was put on hold, though still maintaining an interest with pedigree show dogs.
When our last dog Max passed away in 2021, we reflected on the type of dog we could manage and would suit our retirement lifestyle.
After much research and consideration the Havanese from Havana Cuba to be the right fit for us. We then set about purchasing our first Havanese in August 2021, little did we know what we had let ourselves in for!
Our basis for breeding is always to adhere to the breed standard, confirmation, movement, health and temperament are all of high importance to our breeding programme.
