Pakowhai Beagles is based in rural Central Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. With more than 25 years of experience owning, showing and breeding Beagles in both the UK and New Zealand, I am passionate about preserving the qualities that make the Beagle such a wonderful breed, with a strong focus on both type and temperament.
My aim is to breed beautiful, healthy Beagles that are true to the breed standard, while also having the loving, confident and balanced temperament that makes them such wonderful family companions. Health and wellbeing are at the heart of my breeding programme, and I believe in careful, considered and selective breeding.
All of my breeding Beagles are genetically tested for MLS, Factor VII, Lafora Epilepsy, IGS, NCCD, PKD and POAG, with health, temperament, pedigree and overall quality all carefully considered when planning a litter.
My puppies are lovingly raised in my home as part of our family, using the Puppy Culture programme and protocols. From their very first days, they are given a wide range of positive experiences and carefully considered socialisation and enrichment to help give them the best possible start in life and set them up to become confident, well-adjusted companions.
