SHOW DOG OF THE YEAR 2008

The Show Dog of the Year 2008 competition is used to recognise an individual dog's achievements on a National level when competing against other breeds.
Eligible results can be entered from any All Breeds Championship Show or Group Specialty Championship Show in New Zealand.
- The following results are eligible.
- Best in Show
- Reserve in Show (or Best in Show 2nd)
- Best in Group
- Reserve in Group (or Best in Group 2nd)
- Only the highest award per exhibit per show will be counted.
- The number of points allocated is based on the number of dogs beaten. For example, a Best in Show win with a total entry of 600 will be allocated 599 points (as 599 other dogs were beaten). A Reserve in Show win at the same show would receive 598 points. Point allocation for Group wins is based on the total number of entries in the group. Absentees are not deducted.
